Vickers Wellington on Ben Rinnes

On a excellent weather forecast in July 08 I decided to go for a walk to the top of Ben Rinnes. Indeed it did turn out to be a lovely day and during the walk I checked out the remains of a Wellington bomber that crashed on the 14th November 1943. I didn't expect much at the site and indeed little remained but still a nice walk and a few fragments to examine.

Thankfully with camera timers I can still get the vanity shots of me at the wreckage even when I'm alone! Tommy nae mates! One of the main wreckage areas by the way.

As above but different bits!

Scattered debris at the site, little left but there are fragments of the Barnes Wallace geodesic structure which are unmistakeably from a Wellington
