Hawker Audax at Cairn o' Mount

On a miserable rainy, windy November day in 08 Flash and myself, after a failed five mile hike to locate a Harvard crash site, decided to take in an Audax site on the way home as we were already completely soaked! We were extremely lucky to find this site as the visibility was very poor and the wreckage confined to a tiny area. This Audax crashed in February 1940.

Here lies all that is left of the Audax at the crash site, it appears that someone has collected up all the remains into this one area.

See the Big Picture!

Flash studiously examines the pile of wreckage.

See the Big Picture!

Myself with the largest piece left at the site, obviously part of the fuselage. I'm not sure if I'm smiling or grimacing in this picture!

See the Big Picture!
